Case Studies: Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children

Being responsible for ordering printed materials for an organization that utilizes 22 different logos can be challenging, to say the least. Vicky Lysinger, buyer at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, has used Associates Graphic Services (AGS) as her vendor for printing their marketing and collateral materials for over ten years.

Making sure that new personnel and ever-evolving departments had the correct business cards was extremely labor-intensive. The process of sitting down to write the orders and the numerous times to fax proofs back and forth was eating into the time Vicky had to execute her other duties. It seemed as if managing this task was overwhelming.

AGS, recognizing the dilemma, offered a new digital solution. They provided a custom web interface that allowed Vicky to order and design the cards on-line and receive an immediate proof digitally.

"You can’t begin to imagine what managing 22 logos for our materials was like. The AGS print solution has saved a lot of stress. It allows me to keep my customers - the employees of Nemours - happy. That is my job - keeping them happy. AGS has made that easier,” Lysinger said.

“AGS is meticulous and will not print without absolute sign off. We average about 20 lots per week and this technology allows us to batch our, orders saving time and money. Our colors are a Pantone process, not digital – so the jobs run together. It’s also easy to track orders as they go through the process. The improvement in turnaround time is the big payoff. We've been able to cut the entire process in half,” Lysinger continued.

The success of this solution has duPont Hospital for Children looking at other areas where they can use the technology.

“The Next area we are looking to transition is letterhead! The possibilities are endless!” Lysinger concluded.
