Local Graphics Communication Company Spreads Support for Troops Overseas
Associates Graphic Services to print 60,000 postcards for Xerox’s Let’s Say Thanks Program
WILMINGTON, Del. and ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2010 – Leveraging its expertise in personalized communication, Associates Graphic Services (AGS) will print 60,000 postcards of support for U.S. troops. The graphics communication company is producing postcards from Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) Let’s Say Thanks® program, a free and easy way for the public to send messages to U.S. servicemen and women stationed overseas.
The nationwide program has postcards designed by children ages 6-14 available at http://www.letssaythanks.com for people to select their favorite and write a message of support to the troops. To date, more than 25 million people have sent well-wishes to the troops through the Web site and at local card drives across the country.
“The artwork and messages coming off our production press inspired our team as much as we hope the postcards will motivate the troops,” said Charles Copeland, president, AGS. “We are proud to jump start the new year by doing our part to support the men and women of the armed services.”
AGS will print the postcards on Xerox iGen3® Digital Production Presses at the company’s location in Wilmington, Del. Military support organization Give2TheTroops® will then include the postcards in care packages sent to deployed U.S. forces in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
“The support for this program has been tremendous – from the public and our partners like AGS,” said Gavin Jordan-Smith, vice president, Commercial Print, Pre-Press, Xerox Premiere Partners Global Network. “As a Xerox Premier Partner, AGS’ effort goes a long way toward demonstrating that there is more to our partnership than doing business together – there’s support for our communities as well.”
