WILMINGTON, DE and ROCHESTER, NY June 2006 – Associates Graphic Services didn’t wait long for its second Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) iGen3® 110 Digital Production Press. The full-service graphic communications provider made the purchase before the ink was barely dry on its first signed order. Both digital color presses – the first in Delaware – were installed in December of 2005 and March of 2006, and are allowing AGS to expand its short-run, personalized, full-color digital printing capabilities.
“The cost effectiveness of using the Xerox iGen3 gives us a competitive advantage over print shops that only offer offset printing,” said Charles Copeland, President, Associates Graphic Services. “Personalized content, quick job turnaround and smaller print quantities are critical in the markets we serve.”
AGS produces personalized jobs for the racetrack and casino markets, and works with several clients in the medical and pharmaceutical industries to print conference materials and marketing collateral, as well as a variety of other commercial work, including newsletters, booklets, brochures and postcards. The company expects to double its personalized printing business in the next 12 months.
According to Dave Zamorski, Vice President of Digital Operations, Associates Graphic Services, the company is using its two Xerox iGen3 presses to add impact to printed pieces – enabling clients to craft custom messages and images in marketing materials – that increase response rates and sales for its clients. “By using digital technology we are producing fewer printed pieces for many customers while those jobs are generating higher results,” said Zamorski. “This is the ultimate holy grail to a marketing professional.”
AGS has been producing personalized work for direct marketing professionals since 1998 when it installed its first Xerox DocuColor 2060 Digital Color Press and two Xerox DocuTech 135 Production Publisher black-and-white machines.
